Welcome to the university Lucia celebration!
In the morning of Friday 13 December, the Executive Office invites everyone to the traditional Lucia celebration in Aula Magna with choral singing and a reading of the poem 鈥淭omten鈥.
The choirs S枚t Lik枚r and S盲llskapet CMB, conducted by Mats Backlund, will be singing traditional Lucia songs, and Vice-Chancellor Jerker Moodysson and Student Union Chair Viktor Str枚mwall will together read Viktor Rydberg鈥檚 classic poem 鈥淭omten鈥.

This year's Chrismas song has a serious message
Ho, ho, ho Carl Utbult, songwriter and producer, as well as a teacher at Ingesund. It's that time of the year again; you have been the supervisor for the first-year students in the music production program as they wrote and produced this year's Christmas song together in the regular songwriting course. This year, the students drew inspiration from Musikhj盲lpen and the theme that everyone should have the right to survive their pregnancy, which gives the production a serious message.
What is the recipe for a really good Christmas song harmonically? Is it enough to just add some sleigh bells?

Providing Safe Sports Environments for Children and Youth Has Never Been More Important
In the Swedish Sports Confederation's Guidelines for Children's and Youth Sports, it is stated that everyone in sports should work to create safe and inclusive sports environments for children and youth. In our contemporary society, these guidelines may have become even more important. Therefore, the theme for SVEBI's annual Sports Science Conference 2024, recently held at 果冻传媒, was "Children and Youth in Safe Sports Environments."
The guidelines are based on five main tracks: safety, participation, joy, versatility, and health. This is particularly relevant in the school subject of physical education and health, as it involves inspiring and motivating young people on their way into adulthood.

果冻传媒 conducts pilot study on gaming in academia
鈥 Academia needs to contribute with both research and specialised education in this area, says John聽S枚ren聽Pettersson, professor of information systems at 果冻传媒 Business School.
Through regional development agreements with Region V盲rmland, 果冻传媒 has identified a number of so-called 鈥渟mart specialisations鈥, among them video games.
鈥 The challenge for the smart specialisation of video games and gamification in V盲rmland, which is the basis of the pilot study, is limited cooperation between industry and academia, says John S枚ren Pettersson. As a university, we need to contribute with artistic and scientific expertise in both research and specialised education.

The conference Cellulose Workshop, an international workshop focused on cellulose research, has been organised for the eleventh time. The 11th Workshop on Cellulose, Regenerated Cellulose, and Cellulose Derivatives gathered participants from 10 countries to learn about the latest research findings in the field.
鈥 I had the pleasure of organising the 11th Cellulose Workshop at 果冻传媒. It was a success thanks to our excellent keynote speakers, presenters, participants, sponsors and organisers, says Bj枚rn Sj枚strand, Docent in Chemical engineering. I would especially like to mention Professor Ulf Germg氓rd, who initiated the workshop over 20 years ago. Since then, it has been held more or less every other year with 果冻传媒 and Ume氓 University as organisers.
